Within the three years that we stayed in Bangalore, we had covered most of the tourist locations that are to be covered within driving distance. Two locations remained: Chikamagalur and Coorg. We were out to correct that before we left Bangalore for good. So, we got an opportunity one weekend in October 2009, when we took a break and travelled to the lesser known of the two destinations. We went to Chikamagalur. Due to the nature of this trip, we will post more photos than write text, because seeing is believing.
As is our norm, we set out bright and early, and were soon out on the highway, making our way speedily towards Chikmagalur.
And before we knew it, we were in Chikamagalur. We found out way to The Serai, the Cafe Coffee Day resort that we had an eye on for months! We checked in and were taken in a golf cart to our room. Already we knew that this would be a great relaxing weekend away from the madness of Bangalore. The room was huge, with all modern amenities and a swanky bathroom. In addition, our room also had a personal swimming pool, which we used a lot during our stay. The weather was perfect for swimming.
Because the resort was so great and self-sufficient, in the two days that we stayed there, we did not venture out to do touristy things.
We stayed within the comfortable confines of the resort, enjoying a really relaxing break.
